Governance

Run by businesses,
for businesses

The Board

Wakefield BID is overseen by a voluntary board of levy-paying businesses drawn from across the city centre — retail, hospitality, leisure, professional services and the public sector. The board sets strategy, approves budgets and holds the team to account.

The Team

The day-to-day delivery team runs operations from 20 Wood Street — managing the Street Rangers, Safer Wakefield, events, marketing and member support.

Partners & Associations

The BID works alongside Wakefield Council, West Yorkshire Police, the city-centre CCTV control room, ShopSafe and the National Association of Business Crime Partnerships — plus national schemes including Ask for Angela, Pubwatch and Best Bar None.

Transparency

Annual accounts, the current Business Plan and board minutes are available to any levy payer on request — and key documents are published on the BID Ballot page in the run-up to renewal.
